Eco Club
Our Eco Club, which is led by Mr Norman and one of our volunteers, Mrs Wilson, meets each week to work on all sorts of projects.
In the spring and summer, the team gets busy outdoors - looking after our school garden, growing luscious produce and flowers to brighten up our grounds. Recently, they held a very successful sale of plants that they had grown, raising valuable funds for more projects. Bug hunts are always very popular too and the children enjoy improving our grounds for wildlife. We have enrolled the school with the recently-launched National Education Nature Park and are looking forward to trying out some new activities as soon as the weather gets warmer again!
Eco Club gets involved in lots of other environmental activities too. Occasionally, the children take a turn at leading our collective worship slot, encouraging the whole school to ‘do their bit’. Themes have included composting, stopping litter, our annual birdwatch and saving energy. Sometimes, the team gets creative - for instance, making bird feeders or Christmas decorations from natural materials gathered from our grounds.
As you can see, our inspired eco-clubbers are full of great ideas and are passionate advocates for sustainable living!
